Khus Khus contains high nutritional value and is good for health. It is good especially for this season of cold and flu as it provides warmth and strength. Khus Khus can be used to prepare halwa which can be stored in refrigerator for 7 days. This is specially prepared for a new mother to provide her strength and improve her overall health.


Khus khus – 100 grams

Kaloree1- 2 sachets

Green cardamom – 4 to 5

Almonds – 5 to 6

Milk – 1 cup

Desi ghee – 1/3 cup


Clean khus khus and soak them in water for 5 to 6 hours. Then drain the excess water from khus khus.

Grind khus khus in a grinder and add milk as per requirement.

Take a pan, add ghee and then khus khus paste into it. Stir constantly and roast until its color changes. Simultaneously, there will be a nice aroma emitted from it; this will tell you that it is ready.

Take out roasted khus khus in a separate bowl. Now add the sachet of Kaloree1 in milk and let it get dissolved.

Peel cardamom and make powder from it. Slice the almonds thinly.

Now mix roasted khus khus, milk, and cardamom powder. Cover it for some time.

Take out halwa in a serving plate. Garnish with thinly sliced almonds.

Serve it and enjoy eating.
